Abstract

This paper examined the impact of digital literacy on service delivery by the staff of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja. It assesses staff digital literacy levels and the relationship between digital competence and service efficiency. The paper adopted a descriptive research design in sourcing the required data. A total of 331 questionnaires were administered to respondents, out of which 275 were completed and returned properly. Frequency distribution tables, percentages, and charts were used for descriptive analysis, while hypotheses for the study were tested through the use of regression analysis. The findings of the study revealed that the staff of Kogi State Polytechnic possess moderate digital literacy, which significantly enhances speed, accuracy, responsiveness, and overall quality in terms of service delivery. Major barriers identified include inadequate training, limited access to updated hardware and software, inconsistent power supply, and low institutional support. Therefore, the paper recommends a targeted digital literacy training programme, improved ICT infrastructure, and institutional policies that promote continuous professional development and incentivize the effective use of digital tools.
